Dorado, PR, United States
Located at Dorado Beach Resort, a luxury Puerto Rico beach resort, TPC Dorado Beach features two world-class Caribbean golf courses: the East Course and Sugarcane Course.
Robert Trent Jones, Jr.’s restoration of the historic East Course to its original version designed by his father, Robert Trent Jones, Sr., elevates a classic seaside course into a modern championship layout that challenges players of all skill levels. The course features 7,200 yards of play, with new ultra-dwarf Champion Bermuda greens and a premium number of hole locations on every green.
The Sugarcane Course presents a challenge with forced carries and deep bunkers that can penalize you for an errant shot. It features a back nine surrounded by rivers and lakes offering a scenic retreat from the oceanfront.
In addition to two championship golf courses, Dorado Beach offers plantation-style resort residences, world-class cuisine, and beach activities for the entire family.
Robert Trent Jones, Jr.’s restoration of the historic East Course to its original version designed by his father, Robert Trent Jones, Sr., elevates a classic seaside course into a modern championship layout that challenges players of all skill levels.
Mr. Jones lengthened the course by 700 yards stretching to a formidable 7,200 yards with many of the holes playing into a strong Caribbean trade wind. Greens were completely reshaped to match original features and planted with Champions Bermuda, creating incredibly fast and smooth putts. Bunkers were reshaped and filled with native beach sand.
Although the East is considered a stern challenge at the Professional level, multiple tees provides a fun challenge for layers of all skills levels. Original panoramic sightlines to the Ocean were restored on 12 of 18 holes. Our new caddy program for the East provides another service amenity that will enhance a player’s round.

The Dorado Beach Plantation Sugarcane Course is the more challenging of the two Plantation courses at this Caribbean golf resort, although it boasts larger fairways and greens. The course features more forced carries and deeper bunkers that can penalize you for an errant shot. The back nine is surrounded by newly created rivers and lakes and offers a much different look, never seen at the old Cerromar and Dorado Courses, making this a hidden gem amongst Puerto Rico golf courses. Players have an opportunity for birdies early in the round, but par is a great score on most every hole on the back nine.
The 50,000 square foot, clubhouse awaits golfers after their round. Whether it be for a cold beverage with your foursome, a magnificent meal cooked to order, or simply to relax on our deck that provides great views of the golf course.
